Abati still in EFCC custody, unable to meet bail conditions
Five days after he was arrested, a former presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, is still in custody because he is unable to satisfy his bail conditions, PREMIUM TIMES understands.Mr. Abati, a columnist, was arrested on Monday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on allegations of financial impropriety to the tune of N50 million.

‘Life’s taught me nothing is permanent’
Taiwo Akinwande would hardly ring an immediate bell. But
mention her stage name, Yetunde Wunmi, and a lot of faces would light-up
instantly. The Ogun State born actress who is celebrating her 35 years in the
industry today, tells Medinat Kanabe the highlight of the day is the launch of
a book that chronicles her life since she started out as a thespian and the
challenges.Free kidney treatment for neighours
Medinat Kanabe writes about a hospital that decided to offer
free kidney check-up in its neighbourhood.
When some Lagosians residing along the Lekki area of the
state visited the Healing Stripes Hospital, Lekki last week, their intention
was to just go for a normal check-up but they ended up discovering that their
kidneys were not functioning well.
Diary of a witness: Medinat Kanabe looks at malnutrition and how to prevent it
Rekiah’s father brought her to the crèche by 7.30 am. He
gave her bag to the nanny and quickly ran out to meet up with his work. Her
mother had already gone to her place of work.
Almost immediately her father left, she began to cry. This
reporter who was at the crèche to make an enquiry noticed the baby crying. She
wasn’t crying like all the other children. It was as though she didn’t have the
strength to cry.
‘I’ll never return to England. They’re damn racists.’
Although life in the United Kingdom was a roller-coaster,
with a huge dose of ups and downs, 25-year old Henry Asu was not prepared for
the shock removal order that saw him dumped at the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport, Lagos along with 47 other Nigerians penultimate
Wednesday. For hours, Henry was stranded at the airport and at the mercy of
airport workers, who mercifully did their best to help him, until The Nation’s
Medinat Kanabe caught up with him. His story.
Violence of teenage love
Increasingly, times are changing, and the world is
witnessing unusual development, including teenagers or children- if you like
– falling in love and willing to kill to
preserve their love. Medinat Kanabe takes a look at the rising spate of
violence and killing by young people over love
Ibrahim Ogunkoya is a 19-year-old, Oyingbo, Lagos boy with a
big dream of becoming an international footballer. He had even begun pursuing
his dream, as he had started playing for a local league football team.
Solar Energy to the rescue
Although, the sun has been in existence since man- or even
before him, if we’re to follow the Bible and the Qur’an; it wasn’t until
recently that scientists began inventing devices that can be powered by solar
(Sun) energy. Medinat Kanabe, in this report, looks at the solar energy and how
Nigerians can benefit from it.
As the world continues to evolve, scientists have continued
to come up with alternative and easier ways of doing things, one of which is
inventing devices that can be powered by solar.
‘It takes 38 years, N40 million to translate the Bible’
The General Secretary Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN), Rev.
Dare Ajiboye, spoke with Medinat Kanabe on the 50th anniversary of the body as
well as what it costs to have the bible in local languages

BSN was founded on the 8th of February 1966, so by the 8th
of February 2016, we will be 50.
The changing face of traditional birth attendants

Erectile dysfunction is when a man cannot initiate an
erection to get sexual satisfaction. To get an erection, he has to first
initiate it, in order to penetrate his partner to get satisfaction. A man can
only be said to have erectile dysfunction if he continuously cannot initiate an
erection for at least three months.
