Two senior lecturers in Delta sacked for extorting money from project students

Two senior lecturers (names withheld) at theDelta State Polytechnic (DSP), Ozoro, have been sacked after they were found guilty of gross misconduct and extortion by their employers. 
Student Pulse gathered that the duo, a senior lecturer III of Science and Laboratory Technology and Senior Instructor, Department of Building Technology, were found guilty of extortion. 
According to an official bulletin issued by the management of the state-owned institution, both lecturers were extorting money from students for project supervision.
The Rector of the institution, Dr. Jacob Oboreh, confirmed the incident, Leadershipreports. 
Oboreh reportedly said the decision to terminate their appointment was reached after thorough investigation according to the rules of the polytechnic. 
He revealed that the polytechnic's academic board had also recently approved disciplinary measures against staff involved in such acts. 
The rector said the termination took effect from Friday the 2nd of January and the institution has already delisted them from its payroll.
