Fauziat: A true story (Part Nine)

It was time to go home after the day's work. I cleared my table putting everything back where they belong.
I shut down my computer, disconnected it from the socket and put off all appliances. I packed my bag too. I put my phones inside and went through the files on my table with other jobs I had done that would be given to my boss before I left work.
I then put off the air conditioner and switched off the light, walked out of the office with my bag, files in hand and locked my door.
I went to my boss's office, opened the door and said I was leaving.
"So soon, are you not staying for an extra hour to work ahead like you used to do before?"
"Where are you hurrying to?"
I am sorry sir, I have to be somewhere today," I said.
Okay, have a nice weekend.
I gave him the files explained what needed to be explained and left his office.
I shut the door, took some steps towards my office to get my bag and leave when I heard my name.
"Fauziat... please come."
I went into my boss's office and met him smiling.
"I am impressed at this work; I just saw the beginning and got hooked. You have done well.
I said thank you turned my back to leave when he said "that is not the only reason why I called you. I noticed the change in you recently, tell me, is it a man in your life?
"Is that where you are going to, are you going to be with him today or all through the weekend?"
"Wow! is it that obvious?" I asked myself.
I smiled and told him that I am in a relationship and happy in it. I am going to spend the weekend with him too and don't want to get to his place late.
Okay, I am sorry for delaying you, we will discuss it when you come back, he said.
I smiled again and left his office murmuring under my breath that I will not discuss Umar with him when I resume work next week.
I left the office in a hurry before everyone noticed too that I was leaving earlier than usual or that I was unusually carrying a girl inlove's face.
"They don't mind their businesses in this office," I whispered to myself.
I got to the car, shut the door, started the ignition and brought out my phone to call Umar, but the phone suddenly began to ring, it was Umar.
I picked the call and said hello in the most relaxed voice that I could gather.
"Hi dear, why did you close the door like that and lock yourself in the car as if someone is coming to kidnap you."
"What?"
"Where are you?"
I began to look around the office car park, but didn't see his car.
"Are you looking for me?"
"Funny girl, I am right here"
I raised my head and saw him standing outside my car.
"How did you get here and where did you park?"
"Come out dear, I am driving you home today."
"Where is your car," I asked again.
"I didn't drive to the office today," he explained.
"I drove in a friend's car. I already had plans to come and pick you up. I have been waiting for you in that car over there."
"Come let's go say hi to him. He is my very good friend and his name is Muhammed-Zuber, he will be my best man on our wedding day."
I followed him to the car to meet Muhammed-Zuber. He came out and stretched out his hand; I took it and said hello.
"My name is Muhammed-Zuber, I have brought your prince to you, I hope both of you settle down soon so that I can come visit you many times in future."
I laughed and said, I hope so too.
"Did you hear her," he asked Umar
"She is ready to marry you today."
"Can I call you Zuber for short? I asked.
"Why not, even Umar calls me that sometimes, he only calls me Muhammed-Zuber when I offend him."
We all laughed and said our goodbyes then Umar and I walked to my car.
I was glad I would spend time with him in the car and at his place but I didn't say it.
He started the car and we began our journey to his house.
I noticed I was no longer as shy as I used to be around him and I liked it. I made myself feel even more comfortable by taking a deep breath.
This means I can actually reach out to him for a hug or a kiss, I thought to myself and smiled.
"A penny for your thought," Umar asked.
"Oh it is nothing, I just remembered something that happened in the office today," I replied.
"Would you like to share," he asked.
I told him about my boss and his request to discuss Umar next week. He also laughed and agreed that I don't start a discussion if he doesn't ask me.
I then changed the topic to dinner.
"What are you going to have for dinner?"
"Oh! Oh! I just remembered I don't have any food in the house," he said.
"Okay don't worry, we will get something from the supermart close to your house."
"Alright," he said.
When we got to the supermart, I bought everything I would use to prepare jollof spaghetti, the type I prepared for Abubakar, then we went to his house.
When we got to his place, it was already 6.30pm; I quickly took out my hand bag and the bag of things I bought from the supermart, leaving my bag of cloths in the booth.
As I was entering the kitchen, I shouted that he should help me take the bag out of the booth.
I brought out everything and stated to prepare the food.
Umar took my bag into his room and went into the bathroom to have his bath.
After putting the spaghetti on fire and preparing the sauce, I decided to go and take my phone charger out of my bag so I went inside the room.
As I opened the door to the room, Umar stepped out of the toilet naked; he just finished bathing.
He quickly took his towel from where it was hung, I turned my back and began to apologise; I was about leaving the room when he held me back.
"I have wrapped myself in a towel, you can face me now," he said.
I turned to face him as slowly as I could.
"I am sorry," I said.
"I didn't know you weren't wearing anything."
"I just came in to get my phone charger."
Still holding my hand, he said it was okay.
"You don't have to apologise, you should start getting used to seeing me naked, afterall we are getting married soon, or are you not going to marry me."
I searched my head for what to say next so I could leave the room when I remembered the food on the fire.
"Please excuse me, I must go and see what I put on fire," I said.
He left my hand; I searched for my charger and left the room in a hurry.
I plugged my phone and went into the kitchen to finish preparing the food.
I couldn't concentrate; I was scared; it was now clear to me that I was in a serious relationship.
"He really wants to marry me. Am I ready for marriage, Fauziat are you ready to marry?"
"Gosh, what if he brings a ring today and ask, what will I say?"
A lot of things ran through my mind but I pushed it aside.
By the time I was rounding off the cooking, Umar had finished from the room and came to the kitchen.
"Wow! I hope this food tastes as delicious as it smell?"
I smiled and said wait and have a taste to find out.
"Food is ready, should I serve yours before I go in to have a shower," I asked.
"No, I will wait for you," he replied.
I said okay, went into the room to shower. When I entered the room, I noticed that Umar had changed the bed-sheet and sprayed an air freshener that gave the room a very nice smell.
I thought about what I saw when I entered the room earlier. "God, Fauziat; are you sure you can sleep in this room with him tonight and nothing will happen," I asked myself.
I shifted the thought and removed my cloths, then entered the toilet after taking my soap and sponge out of my bag.
As I put on the shower, the thought came to my mind again. I remembered what I saw again.
Umar completely naked; so hot, well built, his chest, his body, I felt like having a bath with him right there. It was as if I should shout his name and invite him to shower but i stopped myself from doing it. Then the picture that I have been avoiding came into my mind. Yes I did, I saw it and I couldn't take the image out of my mind.
I said again to myself, "God, Fauziat, you saw him, you saw his manhood." "Hmm, he is so big, I wish we were married already," I thought to myself.
I was still in this thought when I heard his voice.
"Fauziat, I didn't know it usually take you so long to bath, I would have requested for my food."
I immediately realised I had not used the soap or sponge; I had been under the shower since.
"I am sorry, I had to use the toilet first; I will join you soon," I lied.
I then hurriedly showered and put on one of the bum shorts and top I had brought. On the top was written 'I seem to have misplaced my boyfriend.'
I went straight to the kitchen to dish the food.
We ate together on the dining table. Umar couldn't take his eyes off me during the meal which made me feel very uncomfortable.
I raised my head from the food and asked "why are you staring at me like that?"
"The first thing is that I like the food; I was wondering how someone can turn a spaghetti into something very delicious, and the other is, I was looking at what is written on your polo."
"I am here dear, you didn't misplace me," he said.
I stopped eating for a while to laugh, then continued eating without relying him.
After the food, I cleaned up and went inside the room to sleep. I was trying to avoid him.
As I opened the door, the image came to my mind again. I then concluded that I couldn't sleep in the same room with him.
I carried my bag into the guest room deciding that was the best place for me to spend the nights I will stay there.
I laid on the bed and closed my eyes pretending to be asleep, pending the time I actually sleep.
I knew he would come to look for me but I was adamant, I had made up my mind not to sleep in his room with him or to discuss our wedding.
After about 10 minutes, I heard a knock on the door, i had not answered when the door opened.
"Fauziat, what are you doing here," he asked.
My heart skipped a beat as I shut my eyes even more to make sure I don't give in.
"Fauziat..., Fauziat..., my love..."
Then I felt a hand on my back.
"Sweet heart, I have been here, calling you."
I pretended again to have woken up, cleaned my eyes and looked at him.
"Hey, Umar, I am sorry, I came in to sleep," I replied.
"No, Fauziat, you cannot sleep here, apart from that, I am seeing a movie in the living room, why not come join me. You didn't even tell me you were coming in to sleep."
"How can I tell you that I can't stand you tonight? Umar. How do I explain how I want you to hold me and do things to me? How do I tell you that you are making me feel the way I have never felt before, I said to myself.
"Please can I sleep, I am really tired. I know tomorrow is Saturday but I really need to sleep right now, I told him.
"I promise to see all the movies with you tomorrow. You should also go and sleep, arent you tired from work?"
"Fauziat you are not saying the truth, tell me what the problem is. Did I offend you? If I did, please forgive me," he asked.
I looked at him; he was so worried. I wished I could tell him what my heart was saying. I felt like marrying him immediately.
"Umar, it is really nothing. I am just tired and I want to sleep here," I said.
He began to laugh. He laughed so much, I became confused.
"Okay I know what the problem is."
"You are scared to sleep in the same room and on the same bed with me."
"Okay dear, I promised I will not do anything to you. I will not even look at your eyes."
"No, Umar, it isn't that. I just want to sleep here. I like this room,"
"You are a bad liar; okay if that is the only thing I will sleep here with you."
"Sleep with me," I asked my voice shaking.
"Sleep with me," I asked again.
"You will sleep with me? I thought of so many things in seconds and decided.
"Okay, no problem, come in let us sleep," I made up my mind to control myself.
"Okay," he said.
"Let me go and get my phones, wrapper and condoms."
"Condoms"
"What do you need condoms for?" I asked.
"Hahan, Fauziat, I was just joking jor, before you run out of the room" he said.
"I wouldn't have run away, I would have just locked the door when you go out," I said and we both laughed.
He went out, came back in a few minutes and sat on the bed.
"Fauziat, am I sleeping on the bed or the floor?"
"Sleep on the bed please."
He lay on the bed with me and slept off in 15 minutes. I couldn't sleep at all. I kept starring at the roof for another one hour.
Then I moved my attention to Umar who had just moved from his side of the bed to my side, his wrapper was no longer covering him, the button on the groin area of his boxer was opened.
I quickly removed my face from him; I didn't want to see his penis again.
I picked up my phone and began to scroll through. The time was 11.30 pm. I got tired of my phone and began to look at the room. I stood up and walked to the end of the room and back. My heart was beating very fast. I was sleepy but scared to sleep.
"How can I sleep, what if my legs touch his leg or i mistakenly wrap myself in his arms, or I put my leg on his body and he gets the wrong message."
The blue velvet cotton made it difficult for me to see outside the house as i tried to stare out of the window.
He moved again and this time he faced up. His penis had found its way out of the boxer, pointing up as if beckoning on someone.
"I have to wake him up," I thought to myself.
"Umar! Umar!" I called out to him almost screaming.
"Yes, Fauziat."
"Please wake up."
"Your boxer, your..."
"Oh, my God; I am sorry, I didn't know," he apologised.
"It is okay, just sleep well."
"When did you wake up?" he asked.
"I never slept."
"You never slept; Is it because I am here?"
"You should have told me that you cannot sleep here with me."
"You should have insisted I sleep separately from you."
"I am sorry Umar."
"You don't have to be sorry Fauziat."
He got off the king sized bed, picked up his wrapper and phone and began to walk out of the room when I realised I would miss him, i realised i couldnt sleep in the house without him by my side because I needed him to hold me to sleep.
"Umar, I called out as he was about to open the door."
"Please don't go."
"Fauziat, it is okay, you need to sleep. You had a hectic day and need to rest."
"No Umar, I want to sleep with you here. I actually couldn't sleep because I want you to hold me."
I said it in a very low voice, he didnt hear it.
"You want what?"
I walked out of the bed to where he was standing.
"You were saying something Fauziat, what do you want?"
I held his hand and took him to the bed. We both sat facing each other.
I began to explain. I told him how I saw his penis when I entered the room after he had his bath and how I have been feeling uneasy since then. I also told him how his penis popped out of his boxer while he was sleeping.
"Fauziat I am sorry, I caused your sleeplessness," he apologised.
"No, Umar, you don't need to apologise, to be sincere, I liked it. I felt like grabbing you and having you in me but I resisted."
"Seriously," he asked.
"Yes," I said shyly.
He stopped talking and looked at me; he stared into my eyes. I could see he had many questions for me but all I wanted was for him to kiss me.
"Kiss me, I am not going to resist," I told him in my mind.
As if he heard, as soon as I raised my head, he kissed me.
It was hot; I almost urinated in my bum short. Blood ran through my body. I returned the kiss immediately, eyes closed, then I wrapped my hands around him.
We were so much locked in our hug I could feel his breath on my face.
He stopped kissing me, looked at me again and smiled. I smiled too, and then he kissed me again raising me up from the bed.
Again I returned the kiss.
I could feel his manhood grazing my left thigh. He then held my breast still kissing me.
I left myself to his mercy.
He removed my top and carried me from the room to his room. He laid me on the bed and came on top of me.
He kissed one of my breasts and fondle with the other one.
I felt him all over me; I couldn't wait for him to come into me.
He began to suck my breasts as he struggled to unzip my short. I moaned.
He finally unzipped it.
I felt the breeze evaporating from the air conditioner on my body. He touched me everywhere. He kissed me from my toes to my face.
As all these were going on, I began to think.
"Fauziat, you have to stop him now," I told myself but continued because I couldn't control it. I kept moaning, calling his name.
He then touched my clitoris. It felt like paradise. I was wet for him. I wanted him inside of me but he stopped suddenly, removed his hands, kissed me again and rolled to the other side of the bed.
"Umar, what it is?"
"Fauziat, I am sorry I can't continue."
"I know you don't want this, you are doing this because of me."
"No, it isn't because of you; I really wanted you inside of me," I said.
"Let us not do what we will regret later," he said.
"Regret, how? Do you have negative intentions towards me?"
"No, Fauziat, I don't, I just feel we should take things slowly. Please come and sleep."
I said okay, went into the bathroom, put on the shower and had a bath then I came back to the room to sleep.
When I lay on the bed, Umar held me from behind.
"Sweetheart, I want to sleep with you in my hands."
I didn't say anything but thought about the moment we just spent together. I was somehow grateful that nothing happened between us afterall.
I slept in his hands and found myself in my father's house.
It was our wedding day; my dad had called us to his room to pray for us.
The dream looked so real, the house was well decorated. Everybody was happy.
We went into the room to meet with my father. We knelt down for him to bless us but suddenly someone appeared from nowhere and knelt down beside me.
My dad left  Umar and I and began to bless me and the other person; it was Khalid.
I woke up with my heart in my mouth. Umar also woke up and found me awake and in fear.
"Fauziat, what is it?"
I couldn't say a word. I couldn't tell him the dream I had. It would put him off.
"It is nothing dear, just a nightmare."
"Okay dear, if you don't want to share, we can go back to sleep."
We went back to sleep and didn't wake up again until the next morning.
...
The rest of the weekend went well. We went to the market, cooked, went to cinema and visited other interesting places.
On Sunday I wished the weekend would start again. Umar didn't mention anything about Friday night neither did I.
On Sunday evening, I packed my bag, and took the clothes I washed out of the wires where they were spread outside the house and made sure the house was in order.
"Umar, you know next weekend is Abdullateef's wedding, so I will not be around to help you clean the house."
"Please make sure the house is in order because you do not know who is visiting."
"Okay ma'am. I will do as you have ordered."
We had rice, plantain, beans, fish, snails and chicken for dinner, by 6.00pm, then had our bath and went to see a movie in the living room before bedtime.
I sat on the rug watching a Bollywood movie; he came from behind and sat with me holding me close to his chest.
We were seeing the three hours movie when I slept off in his chest.
I didn't wake up until my phone rang; it was Mukhtar.
"Hello Fauziat."
"Hello bros."
"How are you."
"I am fine bros."
"I am sure you are on your way home already. Why are you sounding like you just woke up?"
"No bros, I didn't just wake up, I am driving. I am in traffic."
"Traffic on a Sunday? Eyah! I am so sorry about that."
"Okay, I will stay awake for you."
"Thanks bros."
I hurriedly jumped up, went inside cursing Umar for letting me sleep off.
"I couldn't wake a beautiful princess from her sleep."
"Moreover you look so beautiful when you are asleep, I just want to sit there watching you sleep," he said.
"Now my brother has started to call me. I don't like this, you should have woken me up."
"I am sorry dear princess, I won't let it happen again."
I carried my handbag while Umar helped carry my other bag to the booth.
He opened the gate and I drove out.
He came to me saying he will follow me from behind.
"Okay thanks, please hurry up."
We kissed and he went in to bring his car out and close the gate.

Fauziat – A true story (Part Eight)

Weekend came very slowly. I couldn't wait to pack my bags so I packed on Wednesday evening after I got back from work. I decided to use my Louis Vuitton bag that I haven't once used because of its  value.
It had enough space to take all the cloths I needed and I had the intention of taking along with me some wears that I would leave in Jamal's house for use whenever I was there. I found it difficult to decide but later settled for two sexy bum shorts and several tops.
As I kept the bags in my wardrobe I remembered that the next weekend was Abdullateef's wedding and preparation was at its peak.

Fauziat -A true story (Part six and seven)

As I said it, I felt a relief in my chest but I was also scared of what would come next. He held my hands and stood with me looking at me as if he just heard something he never believed he would hear.
His smiles which later turned to laughter and praise to God that he had succeeded sold him out.
I am sure he didn’t know whether to kiss me or just keep on holding my hands there because it was becoming like an eternity. He was still trying to gather himself together when I said, “Okay, goodnight, can I go and sleep now?”
I got the reply I hoped to hear because he said, “no there, we are a couple now, so you will sleep in my room tonight.”
I hesitated a bit, then remembered what Deborah said about sleeping with him and another woman taking him from me if I refuse him. So I said, “Okay but on one condition. Promise me you will behave yourself and keep to yourself while we are on the bed.”
He said, “Your wish is my command” and pulled me to him. He held me so close, I felt I would break.
It was night and we were on his king-sized bed together in his well furnished room. The room was painted lemon green and pink and well carpeted.
It was cold from the air conditioner present in the room. On one side was a three-door wardrobe with a mirror that shows your reflection as you lie on the bed.
On another side were reading table with books and a table light on it. I looked at the room severally until night drew near but sleep didn’t come.
I couldn’t sleep because I felt his presence in the room and was scared that he wouldn’t keep to his promise of staying away but I made sure I stayed as far as possible. At this time, we had separated from the hug and I was on one end of the bed while he was on another.
Around 1.00 am, he moved close to me and touched me; I shivered but pretended as if I was asleep. I moved a bit away from him but he came close again and this time whispered in my ears. “My love,” but I didn’t reply. I began to pray to God that he gets tired and leaves me alone, but he didn’t.
He shook me to find out if I was asleep but I had made up my mind. I turned to look at him and said, “I thought you promised to behave yourself tonight.” He looked away and said “I did” then he looked at me and added “but I can’t sleep knowing you are right here with me on this bed.” I insisted we kept to his promise and sleep. When he saw I was adamant, he looked away, backed me and slept off.
It was Sunday morning; I woke up very late because I didn’t sleep well at night. It was the aroma coming from within the room that actually woke me. I opened my eyes to find breakfast in front of me in the room.
I stretched and was about coming down the bed when Umar walked in with a fruit juice in his hand saying, “hey princess, don’t dare put your legs on the floor; I will carry you to the bathroom, brush your mouth, bring you back here and feed you this morning.”
I smiled shyly and stayed back as he walked close to me, carried me to the bathroom just like he said and brought me back to the bed to eat. After breakfast, we cleaned together and sat to see a movie.
Umar couldn’t get his eyes or hands off me throughout the duration of the movie. After the movie, I was feeling sleepy again so I went into my room to sleep. He came in, sat on the bed and said: “Fauziat, na wa for you o, you didn’t even behave as if someone was with you on the bed at night, you just kept to yourself. I felt I was on the bed with only my pillow as usual.”
I smiled and said: “Umar don’t worry, when we get married, you will have me as much as you want.”
He lay on the bed with me and we both slept off. We woke up to make lunch and saw more movies, ate dinner and watch the news on television. We spent most of the Sunday indoors until night when I decided it was time to go home.
He walked me to my car holding my hand. When I got to the car I opened the door to get in but he said, “Don’t tell me you are leaving just like that.” I stopped, turned to look at him and asked what he expected. He asked if I wouldn’t give him a hug, I smiled and hugged him. He held me very tight and whispered in my ears, “When are we getting married.” I laughed out loud and said today.
He held my hand again and walked me away from the car, then said, “I am very serious Fauziat, when are we getting married?”
“Look Umar, it is already 8.30, if we start discussing our marriage here, I will end up sleeping in your house and wear your clothes to the office tomorrow, with a smile.”
He said, “Okay, we will discuss it in detail next weekend when you come to spend the weekend with me.”
“Do you expect me to spend another weekend with you?” I asked. He said “yes”. I said, “Okay no problem, can I go now?” making an attempt to enter the car.
He held me back again and said “kiss me.” “Kiss you?” I asked, “Why should I kiss you? I can’t kiss you, please let me go.” “Please kiss me, I am dying to get a kiss from you, I will not sleep well tonight without the kiss, please, I beg you, please, please, please,” he said putting his hands together towards his face.
I looked at him, thought of how I have also been dying to kiss him but not after my heart pounded 50 beats did I look at his face and said, “Okay, I will kiss you.” As he was about smiling I added, “I hope you are a good kisser because I don’t know how to kiss; so you will have to kiss for both of us.”
“Okay,” he said and held my hand. Before I could think about it for a second, he pulled me to himself in a swift pull and made me face him looking directly into his eyes. I swallowed a lump of spit that had gathered in my throat, my heart beating but my lips calling.
He brought his head down to mine, I shivered in expectation then he touched my lips with his. It was soft, and sweet. He was gentle. He kissed me, I closed my eyes wrapped my hands around his neck and kissed him back. It was the best; “this is it” I thought to myself.

FAUZIAT (A true story) Part Five

I sat down and told him to make his confession.
He started, "Fauziat, I don't know where to start from. I wish you could open my heart to see the happiness within. I thought I wouldn't see you again after you left to work with another organization. I looked for you everywhere. I asked a few people about you but I didn't know how to ask others. I regretted not approaching you the very first time I saw you but that is in the past now."

I looked at him; confused. I couldn't put things together to understand what he was talking about. This is the man I saw and fell in-love with. The man I showed the green light but he ignored me. Why is he talking about looking for me? Does this mean he noticed me too?

"I have to get to the bottom of this. I must ask him what he meant by this," I thought.

So, I decided to stop acting timid and ask, but as I opened my mouth to ask, he cut me short and said, "Tell me - what happened to you? Why did you leave? Where did you go to?"

Fauziat- A true story (Part four)‎

Abdullateef had gradually grown to become very responsible and had fallen in-love with a girl. His mum was thoroughly disappointed but there was nothing she could do about it. As for me, I had scaled through being Khalid's girl for one session and was in the second session with him and couldn't wait to be his wife. It was the award night and night departmental party and the venue was just a stone throw from Abdullateef's place. He didn't want me to go initially but eventually agreed. He took me in his car to the venue but apart from the class and sophistication in it, I wanted Khalid to come and pick me so we could walk down together instead of going to turn round in a car to  a place that I could have walked through short routes. When we got there, Khalid was waiting, we were both dressed in navy blue jean pants and white shirts and because of the way we stared at each other, Abdulateef immediately knew we were in a relationship. He cleared his throat to bring us out of the stare and said, "I am Abdullateef, her brother and I can see you guys are close from the way you look at each other and the way you are dressed." Khalid introduced himself and they shook hands. Abdullateef then added, "Please take care of her. I am leaving her with you. I don't want to see a scratch on her when I come back to pick her up and please don't get her drunk." Khalid nodded his head to all the instructions and took me inside.  We sat on the same seat watching as our classmates danced to songs from J-Martins, Keffi, Timaya, 9ice, Darey and all the popular musicians at that time as they waited for the award to be given. Tolu came too with her friends but sat far away from us. When it was time to present the awards, my heart began to pound. I wanted my friends to win something at least. I watched and listened carefully nodding to the songs that played in the background. Then I heard Tobi Adekunle, 'Most brilliant girl'. I stood up, ran to the podium to join her in receiving her award and take a photograph too. We went back to our seats admiring the plaque when we heard Deborah Okafor, 'The girl with the best smiles'. We ran up the stage again, this time with Khalid to take another photograph and receive her award with her. Other students went also to receive their awards until it got to the best part. The part where they call the most handsome boy in the school, the most handsome girl, the best dressed, boy and girl, and the couple of the year. We wanted all our friends to take all the awards, we couldn't stop admiring Tobi's and Deborah's award. We were still focused on the awards in front of us when we heard Khalid Ayodeji 'Most Handsome Boy,' he stood up with smiles, took my hands and we walked together to the podium to receive his award. We took some photographs together but as we were about to return to our seats, we heard Fauziat Shaibu and Khalid Ayodeji, Best couple of the year. I couldn't believe it, "best couple, how?" I thought as I stood up with him to receive the award. The party was so interesting. It was too good to be true. This is me, Fauziat the naive girl who doesn't know anything at a party at night. I don't even attend parties, let alone attending them at night with people of same age. I felt so free and alive. It was as if I had been missing out of a lot of fun. I held hands with Khalid almost all through the party, we danced together, ate a lot and drank some stuff we had never tasted.  Before we knew it, it was already 11.30 pm and Abdullateef had started calling. I was surprised that he could allow me stay out that long but I was happy he called as I especially couldn't wait to go home and take a nap. When he arrived I was already waiting outside with Khalid. Khalid and his friends had made arrangements to stay over in one of the rooms at the hotel until morning so I knew he was safe and I was relaxed. When I got home, I went straight to bed but not without saying thank you to Abdullateef. After the award ceremony, we had our convocation; we had written our final exams, defended our projects and were full graduates. We were preparing for our youth service and I was still living with Mukhtar and Abdullateef. I got a place to serve in a company for one year. I was in the office when I received a call one day from Khalid demanding it was important we see. We were dating already for 3 years and we had not had sex. I looked at the time it was 1pm so I gave an excuse and left the office for his house. When I got there I met him watching a movie, when I got close it was an adult movie. I didn't want to see it even though I wasn't surprised. He is an adult and has a girlfriend that wouldn't sleep with him so I politely pleaded that he pause the movie until I left his room. He stood up, walked close to me and said he wasn't going to put it off. I said "okay you called what do you want, I left the office to be here." He said I shouldn't try to make him guilty that he has not gone to the office for two days because of me.  "I was also at work about three days ago and suddenly felt ill. "When I got to the hospital the doctor checked me and said I was fine but I wasn't fine. I called a friend who told me sex would heal me. I have been trying to masturbate since but it is not working that is why I called you. I don't want to cheat on you with anyone, please let us have sex." I declined and told him we have been together for so long and can make it together if we give it a little more time but he insisted. He got angry; there was rage in his eyes. It wasn't the Khalid I used to know. Something was surely wrong I thought. I pleaded with him and begged that we don't spoil what we share. "You are the only man that I have been alone with in a room and wouldn't make a move to sleep with him, why are you doing this now? I asked. Please Khalid let us work this out, we can talk about it, we can go for counselling and even visit a shrink," but he just stood there shaking his head in disagreement. "All I want is for us to have sex and let me be alright," he said. I thought of it over and over again in a space of seconds, then I decided I didn't want to lose him but I also wasn't ready to lose my virginity, not now that I have come this far. I told him I wasn't ready but he wouldn't take no for an answer as he also reached a conclusion as if he had thought of what to say if I said yes or no.  He said he was tired of the relationship, he has been thinking and he feels we should go our separate ways. My heart sunk when I heard those words. I was shocked. This is not Khalid.  I looked at him with tears in my eyes and said I "thought you were different from the others. So all you want is my body and that's why you were pretending to be sick?" He said "yes Fauziat, I have been thinking and I felt it was time we go our separate ways. We have been together for three years. I have never spent that much time with any lady and you might find another man and then jilt me so I decided I wouldn't let you go like that, you must make love to me before you go." I tried to convince him that I wouldn't do that to him; that I loved him, that he meant the world to me, that I would die without him in my life but he closed his ears to it. I reminded him I was a virgin and would keep it for him but he didn't listen; he insisted. He went to the door and locked it. He walked towards me stretched his hand and pulled me close to him. He kissed me forcefully as I struggled with him. I felt blood on my lips and continued to struggle but he was too strong for me.  I cried, I begged, I prayed that God sends someone, anyone to help me then I heard a voice in my head saying scream. I began to scream. I called on his neighbours and whoever could hear with the little strength I had left in me for help. Suddenly, we heard a knock on the door. He hesitated before opening it. It was his friend. I was so happy I was safe. I picked up my shoes, bag, everything I brought to his place and ran out of the room.  That was the last I saw of him. I couldn't go back to the office so I went home instead. My brothers were not home. I went straight to my room, cried my eyes out and slept. I regretted going to his place. I blamed myself for making a decision like that. I wished he was a bit gentle and not animalistic in his reaction. I was also happy I was safe, that I wasn't raped.    It was already 8 months into my service year, I had gotten over Khalid and wasn't in a relationship. I faced my work so much, people began to call me a workaholic. I had men swimming around me wanting to date me. Some married others single but many already in a relationship. They just wanted to have a taste of me and I wasn't ready for them. I didn't give in to any of them. I was attending the company mosque where I observed my five daily Muslim prayers. One day, as I was seated, waiting for the Imam to start the prayer, I noticed a man in front of me. I saw his back alone and tried to place him but couldn't. He looked so handsome from behind. He was sitting but was handsome. I couldn't wait for him to stand up so I could see him. "Could it be that I had fallen in love again? Could this be love at first sight from the back?" I thought, but didn't show it. The Imam came in and my attention shifted from him to the prayer. After the prayer, I traced him to his office and discovered he worked in the Administrative Department. He was so handsome. I had realised that Khalid looked too handsome to me because I loved him too much. I had begun to notice men who were more handsome than him and this man was an example.  I was seeing him more in the office these days. He was taller than Khalid, had a broader chest, his smile would melt your heart. I would imagine myself in his arms every time I thought of him. I was going to date this man, I told myself, and this time, I would marry him. I began to give him the green light. I would dress nice and make sure I passed through his office everyday for him to notice me but he didn't.  I would also make sure I didn't miss praying in the mosque for him to notice me but he didn't say anything to me, not even hi. I gave up trying to make him notice me and focused on other things.  I finally finished youth service and got a job with another company that was into the same business with the company where I served. I was also very judicious and called a workaholic there too. I was at work one day when the Business Development Manager, Mr. Olatunde Olamide came in and asked if I could go to the company where I served to get something for him from their library. We didn't have it there because the company was smaller. I was with them already for 10 months. I said okay, picked up my bag, car key and left. I went downstairs, got into my car and drove to the company. I met people I knew from the gate and greeted them until I got to the library. After I was done in the library, I picked up my bag, car keys and walked through the admin office then I stopped for a moment to take my mind back to when I worked there. I remembered the man I used to see there and had fallen in love with. "Was he still working here?" I asked myself as I started to walk down the stairs to leave.  I was still in thought when I heard the door of the admin office open and a male voice said, "hello young lady." It was him. It was the man I fell in love with over 10 months ago. "So he was still in this company," I asked myself. I greeted him and started to walk down the stairs again but as I was walking down the stairs he said "wait." "Where have you been? I have been looking everywhere for you. Please give me your mobile number" so I brought my phone out and gave him my number. I told him I was in a hurry to get to the office and left. He called as I was on my way to the office but I told him I was driving that he should call again. He called again but this time I was settled in the office. He asked that I forgive his manner and told me his name is Umar Inape. I told him my name too. He wanted to know a lot of things about me. He asked when I left the company and when I would be coming there but I told him I don't know because I have a lot of work to do in the office then he insisted on coming to where I live. I told him it wasn't advisable that my brothers would kill him but that he was invited to the one year birthday party of my cousin that I would be attending that weekend.  My friends were also gainfully employed. They were doing well and we were always in touch. They had frowned at the way Khalid treated me and wouldn't want to hear me speak about him. They were there throughout the period I nursed the pains of his jilting me. I had also told them about the new guy and they were excited but warned that I should be careful this time. It was the birthday of my cousin; he came to my house to pick me. I was dressed in a log pink and brown gown with belt to make it fit. I got into his car, sat in front with him and directed him on the way to the party venue. We talked about life in general and how I have been since I left the office.  He said he had a confession to make but we were already there. He parked the car and said we should talk for a while but my siblings saw me and came towards he car. We greeted and I introduced him to them as a friend.  We spent time together with family at the party and didn't have time to talk. The party came to an end.  My siblings and I  had decided that we would stay back to help with the cleaning of the things used for the party and sleep over since the next day was Sunday and we wouldn't be going to work.  So Umar had to go.  He wasn't happy, I saw it in his eyes, I pitied him but I didn't show it.  We got into the house and began to clean until midnight. We eventually finished cleaning and went inside to sleep. My mobile phone was in my bag throughout. When I woke up in the morning, I picked my mobile phone and to my surprise Umar had called 17 times. I missed his calls. I took the mobile phone inside, plugged it to a socket because the battery was low and dialed his number. He picked the call almost immediately as if he was expecting it and said, "Hello, I called you many times last night; guess you were already asleep. I just wished I would be lucky that you pick the call and say a goodnight to me. It would have caused me to sleep very well." I laughed blushingly and apologised. He asked if he should come and pick me but I said no that I was fine and my sister would drop me off. We were in contact throughout that week and agreed to see during the weekend. He sent his address to me and I went to his place on Saturday. When I got to his house, he was wearing a short and armless shirt. He was so handsome in the outfit. It was a three bedroom flat painted in chocolate and milk. The place looked so comfortable and I imagined myself in it with him and our children. He was preparing lunch at that time and the aroma coming from the kitchen was inviting. I offered to help but he refused saying he was almost done. He finished cooking and served the food on the dining table. He did it so perfectly I was impressed. "Khalid wouldn't beat this, I said to myself." After the meal, I helped clear the dish and washed them. I sat for a while longer and announced I was leaving. I stood up gave him a hug and waited for him to lead the way but he sat back down. He said "Fauziat, we have to talk. I told you I have a confession to make at your cousin's party but you didn't say anything." "I am sorry, I apologised but I have to go." He insisted I waited promising that it wouldn't take long.  I sat down and told him to make his confession. Note: Fauziat- A true story will continue next week, we are sorry we have not ended it. Fauziat-A true story (Part three)

Then I gave him my answer, I said "yes" but I was determined not to be his wife for just the session.
We were now in a relationship and I didn't want to know how he was going to get rid of Tolu or how he got rid of her if he had done it already, I just knew that I had passed the first stage. I picked up my phone and called my friends. I told them about the development. "You?" Deborah asked. You that behaves as if you would die a virgin; you that has never gotten a boyfriend; I would never snatch another woman's man. Fauziat you are heartless." I allowed her talk then I told her I just called to inform her and then hung up.
When I called Tobi the response was different. "Fauziat, I am proud of you. You love it and you went for it. I want to be like you." Her response took away the guilt I had started to feel after I spoke with Deborah.

Fauziat- A true story‎ (Part Two)

I cleared my throat and said hi. He turned looked at me and my heart skipped a beat. I noticed his eyes, his mouth and nice set of teeth as he smiled. I then introduced myself. "My name is Fauziat Shaibu, I am in your class," stretching out my hands. He smiled again and said, "I am Adewale Ayodeji." I rolled my eyeballs and said, "I am not used to Yoruba names, please can you give me another name?" So he said, "My name is Khalid." I immediately fell inlove with the name and repeated it three times.
I didn't know what to say next so I said "I saw you with a walkman and I have been looking for someone to lend me one, I need to listen to a programme this evening on radio but I don't trust PHCN. I promise I will give it back to you tomorrow."

FAUZIAT- A true story

My name is Fauziat Shaibu, I am from Edo state. I was born into an average family.  We are four children. I am the third child in the family of three girls and a boy but I double as a boy and a girl!
Let me add here that I was the black sheep of the family. I was very stubborn and would not come close to getting a distinction in school but I have a good heart.

How I got to know all Muslims are "terrorists"- Nigerian based in Saudi Arabia

I am utterly disappointed in so many Nigerians. We have been so deeply mashed into illiteracy that even many of us who have gone to school are still illiterates. It has always been obvious that religious and ethnic dichotomy are serious threats to our national unity.

What Should Tina Do?

Tina and Emeka were head over heels in love with each other. Theirs was a love story that quite a number of their mutual friends considered almost unbelievable. "It's too good to be true," some of them would whispered.
