Medinat Kanabe writes on: Do people really transform into birds in Nigeria?

How many of you heard about the bird that transformed into a woman around Cappa area of Oshodi along Mushin road yesterday?

Well MedMETRO got a call from one of our readers. He said he was at the scene and that the bird came in contact with a high tension wire which sparked causing the bird to fall down and in the process changed into an old woman.

According to the eye witness, the middle aged woman was going for an operation when the incident happened and has since
been taken away by men of the police force.

I know many wondered why it wasn't in our blog. Well, after the call came in, I called two editors of two major newspapers in Nigeria and what they said was it isn't possible. "You can use it in your blog but we don't use such in our papers", they both responded at their different conversation with me.

One argued that it is not scientifically proven while the other said he doesn't believe in such tales.

One also said many innocent people have lose their lives because of tales like that. He said the woman might be innocent because according to him, there is nothing like witches.

After I spoke with them, I sat for a while and began to think. I thought of all the times in the past when I heard about people change to birds and birds changed to people and they were lynched at the end of the day.

I pitied them because I felt they were innocent but died out of the ignorance of Nigerians.

Then I began to ask other people. Many said it happens, some said it isn't possible, one person even said it can only happen in the spiritual world adding that it is not possible for us to see it happen.

MedMETRO readers, what do you think about this? Have we been killing innocent Nigerians especially women saying they are witches in the past, are there truly witches, do people actually transform to birds and go for operations? I am confused now, please let us hear from you.
