The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC ) has announced the date for distribution of Permanent Voter Card (PVC) and Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in 13 states in the third phase of the exercise.
According to statement made available by the Commission, the distribution of the PVC would commence on Friday, November 7 and end on Sunday, November 9, while the continuous voter registration would take place between Thursday, November 13 and Monday November 17.
The states involved in the exercise are Lagos, Adamawa, Borno, Edo, Imo, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Plateau and Rivers.
INEC also warned that only those with the permanent voter card would be allowed to vote during the 2015 elections.
It therefore advised voters to cross check their names in the displayed voters' register, charging those who do not find their names on the register to re-register during the continuous voter registration exercise in their states.
It, however, stated that the continuous voter registration is not for those whose names are on the register but who have changed their address and wish to transfer their cards to the new address.
INEC stated that those wishing to transfer should write to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in their state of domicile at least 30 days before the date of election.
The Commission also advised those who have lost their cards or whose cards are damaged to apply for replacement by applying in writing to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in their states through the Electoral Officer of their local government area.
It will be recalled that the distribution of PVC and the CVR had earlier been carried out in Taraba, Gombe, Yobe, Zamfara, Kebbi, Benue, Kogi, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa in Phase 1.
States involved during Phase 2 are Yobe, Bauchi, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kwara, Anambra, Ebonyi, Ondo, Oyo, Delta, Cross River as well as the FCT.
