Samad Biobaku writes on: Nigerian Churches & Mosques I Once Knew

When I was little,  my Ghanaian teacher,  movies, cartoons, storybooks and everything I saw helped me see the Church and the Mosque as the House of God – A place to go whenever I was afraid, hungry, homeless,  needed something from God or when I did something really bad and needed to ask God for forgiveness with a promise never to do it again.
Today, the House of God has changed – I do not see God in there. I see cheque-books, men who psychologically exploit the fear of others, fake prophets, sexy sisters, men who subliminally infuse the Devil's doctrine into God's words and with a gaping hole of disbelief,  I see how men establish a business enterprise where profit must be made and call it the House of God.
