Fayose to be sworn in tomorrow

Dr. Ayodele Fayose is expected to be sworn-in as Governor of Ekiti State today (Thursday) at a ceremony to be performed by the Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.
Security arrangement has been intensified in the State capital ahead of the inauguration with either of President Goodluck Jonathan or vice-president, Namadi Sambo expected to grace the occassion, according to the State Publicity Secretary, Kola Oluwawole.
The state is in jubilation mood in readiness for the inauguration. Artisans, okada riders, market men and women as well as commercial motorists have all bought uniform from Fayose's campaign headquarters in Ado Ekiti.
Already, guest houses and hotels in the town are already booked.
The Governor-elect has assured all the groups and associations, civil servants and teachers including the party supporters of adequate care and entertainment.
Our correspondent who went round the city observed that policemen and other security agencies were already on patrol and stationed in strategic places.
Security around Fayose has also been beefed up with troops from the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Prison Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, men of Department of State Service and riot policemen.
A detachment of armed solders in many Hilux vans had also arrived the state capital ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. The Governor-elect has also distributed cows and money to interest group in the state.
The Ekiti Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Babayemi, in a statement said the Command had put in place adequate and comprehensive security measures to prevent breach of law and order.
He said, "Accordingly, the Commissioner of Police, CP Taiwo Lakanu fdc, has ordered the deployment of adequate manpower and equipment to police all the events.
"Bomb Disposal Units, Counter Terrorist Units, Police Mobile Force and Swift Response Squad in addition to conventional and plain cloth detectives have been strategically positioned to ensure an eventful and crisis free ceremony.
"The Police personnel have been mandated to embark on thorough stop and search of persons and vehicles to prevent trouble makers from infiltrating the venues.
"Thus, the Commissioner of Police appeals to the good people of the state to support and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure a hitch free ceremony."
Fayose visited the stadium in company with security personnel to inspect the extent of preparation for the swearing-in ceremony.
A rehearsal for the inauguration with the Chief Registrar of the Ekiti State High Court, Obafemi Fasanmi, also took place on Wednesday.
Fayose, in an interview with journalists said the swearing-in would take place as planned.
He appealed to striking workers in the state to call off their strike as a mark of honour for him.
It was learnt that the outgoing Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and his family vacated the Government House around noon, having started moving their things out before Wednesday.
