The Social Democratic Party has announced that women and physically challenged persons vying for political positions on its platform will be given free forms.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Olu Falae, said this while addressing members of the party in Lagos.
Falae said the party was doing this in line with the philosophy of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who championed egalitarianism.
Falae said the party would field candidates for all elective positions in the state and win.
He said, "We will contest every elective position in Lagos. So, the party local government chairmen must go and find me candidates for every slot: House of Assembly, House of Representatives, senate and governorship. Find me male and female candidates. For the ladies among us, we will not charge you a kobo for the forms, they are free.
"For those who are physically handicapped, the forms are also free. So, Mr. chairman, I will not accept a situation where we don't contest seats in Lagos State. If you cannot find candidates, invent them."
Falae said the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress lacked ideology and Nigerians would shun them at the polls next year.
He said, "Other parties are not parties because a party is a group of men and women who share the same ideology, who come together to seek power democratically. What is the ideology of the PDP and the APC?"
