The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has approved that distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) should commence in all local government areas of Kano, Edo, Plateau, Ogun and Imo states.
This decision was arrived at, at a meeting held at the commission secretariat, on Tuesday.
Also, the distribution should commence on November 7 and end on November 9, as earlier scheduled and in some local government areas in Lagos, Rivers and Nasarawa states from November 7.
The commission's director, I.A Gali, giving the breakdown, said the INEC had approved that distribution of PVCs in Katsina, Niger, Kaduna and Borno states should be rescheduled from November 28 to November 30 and that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in those states should be rescheduled from December 3 to December 8, while the CVR exercise in Adamawa State will begin on Wednesday, November 12 and end on Monday, November 17.
INEC had previously scheduled distribution of PVCs and the CVR exercise to commence in 13 states (Adamawa, Borno, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Imo, Lagos, Ogun, Edo and Rivers) on November 7 and 12, respectively.
