Supreme Court removes acting Taraba State Governor

The Supreme Court yesterday issued an order removing the Acting Governor of Taraba State, Garba Umar, from office.
The court has also ordered that the previously impeached Deputy Governor of the state,Abubakar Danladi, be reinstated.
‎Danladi was impeached in September 2012 by the State House of after he was accused of gross misconduct.
He challenged his impeachment first at the Federal High Court in Taraba and then at the Court of Appeal which upheld the ruling of the former court.
Umar replaced Danladi as Deputy Governor after the latter's impeachment and thus took over the official duties of Governor Danbaba Suntai after his plane crashed in 2012.
