BREAKING: Doctor infected by Sawyer dies

A female medical doctor at First Consultant Hospital, Lagos, has died from the Ebola virus disease, sources confirmed to TheCable this evening.
The ministry of health is expected to make a statement  tonight to announce the death, but the identity of the victim will most likely not be revealed.
The doctor was the one who attended to Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought the virus to Nigeria, and reportedly discovered too late that the man had been infected with Ebola.
However, TheCable learnt that the latest casualty is Dr. Ameyo Stella Adedavoh, who had fallen into coma for nearly a week before finally succumbing to the disease.
Adedavoh, who is survived by her only son, is the first doctor and the fourth Nigerian to die from the virus.
The other fatalities were two nurses and an ECOWAS protocol officer.
Five other persons who were infected have been discharged from isolation ward, while two other persons are currently undergoing treatment.
Friends and well-wishers of the late doctor had launched a campaign for the United States to make the ZMapp experimental drug available for her, describing her efforts at saving the life of Sawyer as "heroic".
However,  makers of the drug had announced that they had run out of supplies and it would take months to produce.
