MURIC calls for the release of Ustadh AbdulGaniy and wife

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on  Nigerian security agents to produce the Islamic scholar Ustadh AbdulGaniy Jumah, and his wife Shakirah who were abducted by unknown gunmen from their residence at Fagbemi Street, off Ntabo bus stop, Ijoko, near Sango in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The abductors who were said to be soldiers came in three vehicles including a jeep, a bus and a van at mid morning while they were taking their mid meal, Sahr, to partake in the ongoing Ramadan fasting.
In a release sent to The Nation: "None of them wore the army uniform. None of the neighbours could pick the vehicles' plate numbers due to shock and confusion, it stated."
The group is appealing to the Ogun State House of Assembly and the National Assembly to wade into the matter.
Ustadh Abdul Ganiyy owns an Arabic school (modrasat) and teaches both working class and school children in Arabic and Islamic Studies in the area. Their whereabouts have since remained unknown.
