Apostolic Church, Idiosan, Ogun State, has said that the release of former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, from
incarceration in London would surprise many Nigerians.
The prophet also predicted victory for the
incumbent Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, but warned him not to take
support for granted.
The cleric made the pronouncement during an
exclusive chat with our correspondent in Lagos while reappraising the political
situation in the country.
According to him, “Ibori still has a major
role to play in Nigeria’s politics. Although he is being persecuted in England
by forces in the country, his release will be mysterious such that many people,
including his adversaries, will be surprised.
“How he will be released will even baffle
him (Ibori) and his associates, so let no one write him off. God has decided to
show mercy on him and there is nothing anyone can do.”
On Ajimobi, Prophet Owoyemi said: “Before
the election date, some opposition party members in Oyo State will join
Ajimobi’s party, which is All Progressives Congress (APC); however, he should
be careful.
“If the governor can devote more time for
prayers, he will surely break the jinx of second term for governor in Oyo
State. The hand of God is upon him to be victorious but he should be guarded
not to make comments that would make the electorate see him as being arrogant.”
“Politicians should realise that it is only
God that gives power so they should be careful not to drag the nation into mess
at federal level.
