Afro-Juju Crooner Sir Shina Peters (SSP) has for the first time revealed the reason behind his love for sun shades.
Speaking in an interview with our reporter, Demola Adefajo, at the 8th Media Nite Out Awards held at the Times Square Events Centre in Ikeja, Lagos State at the weekend, SSP as he is fondly called said apart from being a fashion accessory, he uses sun shades to cover his shyness.
"I have never said this before. It is going to be an exclusive. The fact is I am a shy person. That is why I use sunshades", he said.
Peters whose fast paced album Ace changed the direction of Juju music also disclosed that there was no amount of money he could not spend on maintaining his appearance, saying he can never compromise his style.
"My style is one thing I cannot compromise. I can spend any amount when it comes to maintaining my appearance", he added.
Shina Peters was one of the winners at the award as he was recognised as Media Friendly Music Personality of the year.
Defending his closeness to female fans, he said it is as a result of the fact that he is always singing in defence of women, recalling one of his songs where he sang "give our women chance to rule".
Queried on his next musical project, he said it would be a collaboration work with Timaya and some other musicians.
He, however refused to reveal the title of the album, just saying "wait and see. It will be a surprise".
