UK based decor firm to open in Lagos

Decor Group, a UK based creative agency - Decor Fusion and Decor Cribs that is into interior designing and other branding will launch its Nigeria branch in Lagos on 26st September at the Best Western Plus, Allen, Ikeja.
Speaking during a press conference to announce the launch, Chief Executive officer, CEO of the firm, Mr Michael Banjo said the event will witness lecture on creative interior designing by Jimi Tewe, CEO, Inspiro Consulting, a Career Services and Human Management Film.
He said although the firm is just opening, the company has made plans to train interested Nigerians on interior decoration stating that registered participants will be inducted on that day.
Banjo who studied Business and Management said: “We don’t just want to come into Nigeria; we want to train Nigerians on interior decor. We discovered that there is no university offering academic course in interior design so we have taken it upon ourselves to do so.
“Because there is so much to learn, we have designed a one year course for them. There is a need to introduce vocational training to give people the tools and practical ideas in terms of how to decorate and design. A lot of people want it but no skill set or structure.”
He noted that the training is affordable, runs throughout the week, time schedule is flexible and participants can pay in instalment as he added that they also have online courses for people who are not in Lagos.
“The total amount payable is N420, 000 for the one year course. We have teachers coming in from the UK and at the end of the training; the student will become affiliate of Decor and Rainbow.”
On partnership, he said they are looking at partnering some institutions so as to refer the training courses to interested students and that they have made plans to give scholarships to indigent Nigerians who are interested in learning.
