Police in Imo State yesterday discovered and detonated bombs that were left to go off in front of the Winners Chapel Church, Owerri.

They have also arrested six suspects. The two improvised explosives devices were taken away after one was detonated and the other dis-alarmed.

Speaking to news men, the spokes person for the police command, Deputy Superintendent Andrew Enweren said police was alerted to strange objects at the entrance of the church around midnight and bomb experts were promptly drafted to the church.

During their check at the Port Harcourt Road Branch of the church, it was discovered that the bombs in form of refrigerator compressors were concealed in some sack bags.

Members of the church who were there for the Christian Sunday church service were seen thanking God for their lives.
